Penda Learning is designed around the technology needs of districts and schools. From single sign-on, automated rostering and full integrations with learning management systems to strict compliance with FERPA, you can count on Penda to work seamlessly within your infrastructure and support effective in-person and remote digital learning.
Using Learning Tool Interoperability (LTI) 1.3 Advantage, the gold standard for
systems integration, Penda’s gamified science activities can be right at teachers’
and students’ fingertips in your learning management system (LMS).
This seamless integration makes it easier for students to build their science skills within a learning environment they’re already familiar with and use every day. Integration makes using Penda more efficient for teachers, too. They can assign Penda activities, track student progress, and even create intervention groups all without ever having to leave the LMS. As students complete assignments, their scores are automatically added to the LMS gradebook, saving teachers time and reducing errors caused by manual data entry.
LTI Advantage makes Penda a unified part of your learning ecosystem, simplifying access and giving valuable time back to teaching and learning.
In addition to single sign-on using LTI 1.3 Advantage, Penda is certified by both
ClassLink and Clever for SSO and can also integrate using OAuth.
Auto data rostering can be done securely with ClassLink’s OneRoster or with IMS Global OneRoster in both csv and REST formats.
Penda uses Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. This ensures ultimate stability and security.
I look at the reports. They are very detailed. I can see which students are needing more practice in certain areas. So I can assign more assignments to only those students. So that’s how I’m using it as an intervention.
Science Teacher, Aventura City of Excellence School (FL)
For differentiation in class, it was really helpful. Because the reality is sometimes that two different kids can equally not do well on a test, but for different reasons. So teachers have struggled with what to review, but can’t be six teachers at once. So Penda really made that accomplishable, so much so that [teachers] said: ‘We want this back! We want this back right now!
Science SAL & Coach, Jennings Middle School (FL)
We have teachers that use it for incentives, with the different scores. Not necessarily who got the most right, but the most growth, so weekly challenges, which like I said –– most of our kids here are below grade-level reading so to give them an opportunity to be able to beat their old score when they’re not always getting A’s and B’s on tests, they can show that growth which means a great deal to our teachers and kids.
Assistant Principal, Duval Charter Scholars Academy (FL)
We were specifically looking for some kind of a program that would be able to tailor the program to our Florida standards, and to our district created pacing-guides. We wanted user-friendly things so that teachers didn’t need to take on another thing.
